The Covingtons bought their first peacocks in the late 1960’s from a couple living near Abilene. After a few days of living in the chicken house, the peacocks were released to make the farm home. Immediately the male flew away. He was located several weeks later on a farm about a mile away. Once back home, the peas spent several weeks in the chicken house and lot until completely acclimated to their surroundings. Now the Covingtons own 13 peacocks.
